Audacity
Free software for recording and editing sound.

 Audacity is a free, easy-to-use audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux and other operating systems. You can use Audacity to:

  • Record live audio.
  • Convert tapes and records into digital recordings or CDs.
  • Edit Ogg Vorbis, MP3, WAV or AIFF sound files.
  • Cut, copy, splice or mix sounds together.
  • Change the speed or pitch of a recording

RadioAnywhere has some really useful tutorials for using Audacity.

    We used audacity to record our class Diary Rap! Children really enjoyed it!

    We use Audacity to record our school’s weekly radio show and then we upload it onto the Learning Platform! I use it a lot in my classroom for speaking and listening activities.
